The girls are really showing their true colors now… what a beautiful snapshot of what is still (and will always be) in creation… Bugs of the backyard beware!
At 3:04 pm on May 22nd, all 5 of the girls were perched on the roost branch… all facing the wall with tail-feathers to the open brooder. They looked so cute and contented…
BitterSweet… after inquiry, I understand that today is the first day of the rest of their lives… checking on the chicken cam several times today, we found that the brooder is now up for rent, of all things… So I guess the girls are definitely out adventuring and holding together as they have been trained… sharing a new space and a new and bigger world of excitement. Parents are now empty nesters and experiencing the taste of independence once again… wondering if they have enough planned to keep them busy, because they just might need to stay occupied… Love to all…
